The Otsego Development Authority/Main Street Program is accepting applications for a full-time Director. The Director will be responsible for coordinating DDA and Main Street activities in the City of Otsego, MI that are consistent with DDA priorities and using National &Michigan Main Street America Refresh/Transformation Strategic Plan with Four-Point Approach: Design, Promotion, Economic Vitality and Organization. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3 years work experience is required in one or more of the following areas: commercial district management, economic and/or community development, public relations, business administration, public administration, DDA management, Main Street experience, volunteer or non-profit administration, small business development, or other related areas. A valid Michigan driver's license is required. National Main Street Certification is preferred.
The director must be entrepreneurial, energetic, well-organized and capable of forming collaborative relationships in DDA District and Main Street area as well as throughout the community. Excellent public speaking, verbal and written communication skills are required. Salary is $45,000 per year depending upon experience, plus benefits. Equal Opportunity Employer. Although there are no current openings for part-time positions, the Otsego Police Department continually accepts resumes throughout the year. The Otsego Fire Department is
accepting applications for the position of firefighter. The Otsego Fire Department is a paid on-call department and firefighters respond to fires and emergency situations as their own schedules allow.
Qualifications for this position include:
* Minimum eighteen (18) years of age.
* Residence located within a four minute response time from the Otsego Fire Station.
* Valid Michigan driver’s license, with a good driving record.
* Successful completion of Otsego Fire Department physical ability test.
* Ability to successfully complete training courses designated by the department.
Preferred Qualifications may include:
* Firefighter I & II Certification or equivalent
* Hazardous Materials Operations Certification
* Confined Space Rescue Operations Certification
* Medical First Responder License
